Campus West Theatre Welwyn Garden City, AL8 6BX £15 per participant Workshops will be tailored according to the experience of the participants Laine Theatre Arts have provided two places at their 2009 Summer School (Dance and Musical Theatre courses). Two participants (aged 12 on 1 Jan 2009) at the workshops will be chosen for these places by the tutors, who will nominate those students whom they believe will gain the most benefit from the excellent coaching and tuition at the Summer School. VOCAL WORKSHOP
Tutor: Dan Swana
Dan is Musical Director for The Company (a Foundation for Youth Music Theatre based in Manchester) and Musical Theatre Tutor for the British  & International Federation of Festivals’ European Youth Music Summer School.  A highly acclaimed singer, he trained at St. Margaret's Church, Westminster Abbey. He has taught and worked with choirs across the country and worked with a South African Choir in Kwazulu Natal. On his Gap Year, Dan became an Assistant Musical Director of the National Youth Music Theatre, and has sung as a soloist in Buckingham Palace and Wembley Arena including performances for George Martin and Nelson Mandela.  Dan plays keyboards for Swing Out Sister and has toured America and Japan with them. As a freelance pianist and bass player, he can currently be heard on Just Jack’s top ten album ‘Overtones’.

JAZZ WORKSHOP
Tutor: Tracy Baxter
Tracy has worked in the UK and worldwide as a dancer for leading choreographers and directors in all aspects of theatre, television and commercials. She was dance captain and subsequently assistant choreographer to leading choreographers Phil Winston and Anthony Johns. Tracy then became resident director and company manager on Mystique and dance coach for the award winning Cirque Ballet Eclipse. It was then a natural progression for her to start her own work as a choreographer in which she has developed her own unique Jazz style. At present she teaches Jazz for Kate Simmons Dance Limited, the Royal Northern Ballet, The Hammond School, and at John Moores University.
